Prenatal Massage
Pregnancy is rewarding: but it’s also exhausting and stressful. A prenatal massage offers a reprieve from the discomfort with a safe, gentle massage aimed at relieving the aches most women experience during pregnancy.

A prenatal massage incorporates the techniques of traditional massive with adjustments which make the massage safe for the baby and more satisfying for the expectant mother.
Expecting mothers are advised not to sleep on their backs to minimize discomfort and maximize the flow of blood and nutrients to their baby. The same is true during a massage.[1]
Unlike a Swedish Massage, the prenatal massage client spends limited time on their back. Most of the massage will take place positioned on their side, or another safe and comfortable position.
Pillows may be used to offer additional support and comfort.
Expectant mothers experience unique and prolonged discomfort such as headaches, cramps, swelling, and backaches. A prenatal massage will concentrate on these areas of stress and target specific aches and pains.
But it’s equally important that your massage therapist knows what to avoid.
Your massage therapist will avoid specific points in the hands, feet, and ankles which, when manipulated, can cause your pelvic muscles to contract.[2]
